Q: What is an application service provider (ASP)?
A: A service (usually a business) that provides remote access to an application program across a network protocol.
Example:
You offer a service, and need to provide a way to sign up for and cancel the service. This might be coupled with taking online payments. The ASP operates the system and your customers connect to it to interact. You, in turn, connect to management screens to do your work. You do not need to have the systems on site, or employ managers for them. The ASP provides a set of services tailored to your needs.
Using a combination of proven open-source building blocks and custom written programs, I can tailor a solution to your application needs.
